That Time My Husband Was the “Hey Girl” Guy

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Ryan Gosling has been retired as the “Hey Girl” guy, and bloggers across the InterWebz are promoting their own special man into the role! With an upcoming linky party to celebrate the new twist in the “Hey Girl” phenomenon, you know I had to take part. Plus, given the chance to have Mr. Magpie say all the things he would never (and I mean not ever) say, I couldn’t pass that up, no way no how.

So, without further ado…

I present to you…

Mr. Magpie doing “Hey Girl.”

Take it away, Mr. Magpie!

I would have done more, but it’s really hard to get pictures of Mr. Magpie. Why? Because he’s always like this:

Which kind of makes up for the fact that he never says things like the Hey Girl man says.

Either way, I really REALLY should be nicer to that man.

Love, Angela

Does Mr. Magpie know your showing his pictures on the internet? ๐Ÿ™‚ Looks like there been some changes since I last saw you. I owe you hollyhocks seeds. I may need to drop them by and take a peek. I’ll wait until we are better here though.

    1. Hahaha! Yep, totally knows. We’d love to see you, but yes, when you are healthy, please! ๐Ÿ™‚ ~Angela~

    1. Thank you, Mary! ๐Ÿ™‚ ~Angela~

  2. Well now that is just heart warming! I love it when one partner expresses appreciation for another. We are so lucky to have supportive husbands…such a great post!melinda

    1. Thank you, Melinda! I have to be honest that as I was looking through all those pictures I realized how hard he’s worked around here to make our home the way I want it. It’s pretty generous. I hadn’t really thought about it before! ~Angela~

  3. Awwwww. That last pic almost teared me up! Yeppers, I’d say you got yourself a good man. Dona

    1. Thanks, Dona! I am working on being more thankful, for sure. ~Angela~

Gotta love a man who is good with home repair! I love the Christmas tree one.

    1. Thanks! I admit I would looooove to hear him say that, but it’s never gonna happen. But he makes up for it with all his hard work, definitely. ~Angela~

  7. Laughing OUT LOUD. By myself, at my laptop. You are HI-larious. I love how he actually looks like he’s saying those things you wrote on each photo. The second one about cuddling in bed with pinterest had me rolling! Thanks so much for the laugh!

    1. Hahahaha! I always have to look around when I do that and make sure that nobody is looking! I’ve been cracking up all morning with everyone’s posts. Too fun! ~Angela~

  8. Ahahaha! Those were great! And that last picture? Swoon…

    1. Thanks, Amy! Yep, that one is my favorite. He was in the middle of tearing out the old dining room floor at the time, but when his little girl needs a hug, well, that’s worth taking a break for. ๐Ÿ™‚ ~Angela~

  9. That’s sweet and funny. I’ve got a photo of my husband reaching into a hole in our ceiling too!

    1. Hee hee! Love those ceiling pictures. I have SO MANY of them! It’s funny how many times you end up needing to do that in a house, isn’t it? Thanks for stopping by! ~Angela~

    1. Hee hee hee! Thanks Shelly! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. The one about Pinterest made me laugh out loud! Your Mr. Magpie has skills. YAY!Linking from Bliss Ranch,Ricki Jill

    1. Hahaha! Thank you. Yes, Mr. Magpie does have skills — I really really lucked out on that one. I’m not sure he’s *quite* as happy about it as I am. He jokes sometimes that he wishes he hadn’t told me about his handy abilities when we were dating! Ha! Just in fun, though. He likes getting things done. ~Angela~

  13. He doesn’t need to say hey girl things; looks like he’s busy doing the hey girl things. That’s sweet seeing all those pictures, and the one at the end tops it off perfectly!Liz

    1. Liz, you are so right. No, he’ll never offer to Pin for me (though he looks at mine if I ask him to), and he’ll never want multiple trees (though he’s gotten them for me anyway), and he’ll never *suggest* beadboard though he’s installed it for me. I’m very thankful. It still tickles me to think of it, though. Hehehehe. Thanks for stopping by! ~Angela~
